Amy Boyd has taken out the female senior unlimited class at round one of the 2008 Women‰Ûªs Cup held at Kilcoy Queensland last Sunday, Jan 20th. 275 riders showed up for the event including riders from New Zealand, Darwin and Western Australia.
Boyd proved consistency is always a good thing when she took a six point win via a trifecta of second places.
New Husky Chix Racing recruit Ashlea Bates proved to have the speed to win on the day but a disastrous first race, where
she scored 11th after crashing saw her miss the top spot for the day. Bates went on to win her second and third races but the damage had been done.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm stoked to have finished 2nd overall considering I crashed in the first race. This was my first factory ride on my new Husqvarna TC250, the power and handling was great." the 17-year-old Bates said.
Steph Cutler finished one point behind Bates in third.
Tori Dare took the win in the Female Junior Lites 13-U16 ahead of another Husky Chix rider in Courtney Knight.
