The second round of the AMCROSS Series, natural terrain Motocross event, will be held this weekend (April 21 and 22) at Bega, along the river banks of NSW's far South Coast.
In excess of 400 competitors will line up for action for the weekend, which without a doubt make the AMCROSS Series one of the biggest events for Motorsport events ever in Bega, subsequently, bringing alot of hype and enthusiasm amongst the local community.
"There is a real positive vibe amongst the local community, as we are all very much excited to host such a big event and look forward to an action packed weekend of racing," explains Far South Coast Motorcycle Club secretary,
Annette Nichols.
"The local riders are also excited about competing on their home turf, and they are all eager to prove their strength."
The racers will be competing on natural terrain, at the Old Bega racecourse (for horses). The Far South Coast Motorcycle Club (FSCMCC) will sanction the weekend's proceedings with the Junior events taking place on Saturday, whilst Sunday will hold all of the Senior races.
This is the first time that Bega has hosted the AMCROSS Series, and the Bega community will reap the benefits such an event will bring for local economy, and therefore have had no hesitation in supporting the weekend.
The AMCROSS Series race format for both Senior and Junior competitors is three rounds of heat races (10 minutes plus one lap) and the best performing riders in each class over the three rounds are declared the overall round winner.
AMCROSS racing is scheduled to begin at 9.30am on both days.
