Alex Cudlin, will be making his Grand Prix debut on the October 15-17 weekend at Round 16 of the Moto2 World Championship at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, Australia.
The current Superstock World Endurance Championship leader confirmed his wild card entry whilst in Spain on the weekend. The 24-year-old will line up on the grid against some of the fastest riders in the world, riding the Blusens-STX BQR machine.
"To be told I‰Ûªll be racing in a Grand Prix event is a bit surreal. Obviously this will be the biggest race of my career, so it‰Ûªs extremely exciting for me. It won‰Ûªt be an easy race, as the first time I‰Ûªll get to ride this particular bike will be in the first practice session at the event, but I‰Ûªm going there confident of finishing with a good result," Cudlin said.
"It's been 5 years since I last raced a 600 and rode at Phillip Island, but I know the circuit and to be making my Grand Prix debut in front of my family and fans is really special."
The Moto 2 Grand Prix Championship is in its inaugural year and has been marked as one of the most exciting and close racing formats in 2010. The Moto 2 championship has travelled around the globe from Europe, America, and Asia and will mark its first time racing on Australian soil.
"I really don‰Ûªt know what expect for the race. I'll be racing many World Champions, so I‰Ûªm looking forward to seeing how I go. "
"Obviously this experience wouldn‰Ûªt be possible without my World Endurance Championship team, QMMF, allowing me to do this. The biggest thanks must go to them. They have given me a wonderful opportunity which may be a further stepping stone for my racing career," concluded a beaming Cudlin.
