What's even more surprising is his return has come at a time when Australia will have its most competitive line up in years. Craig Anderson, Daryl Hurley, reigning champion Daryl King and a long list of capable riders will line up with Glen on the start line on March 20 in Wonthaggi, Victoria.
Glen will be riding a Honda CRF450 for the Full Throttle Sports owned Honda SMART Racing Team with support from Honda Australia, No Fear, Pro Circuit, Pro Honda Lubricants, Michelin, Best Western, Acerbis, Camelbak, Honda Genuine Parts, Pre-Pel, Giant, Asterisk, Oxtar, Ringmaster Images, Anger Management, M2R and Scott USA
"I have always loved racing and the sport has been good to me, so it's hard to let go. I like the competition and am looking forward to competing once again. I will be a part time racer and full time coach, so we will see how it goes", said Bell.
Although aiming at a top ten finish in his Australian title campaign the part time racers my main focus is on the Honda SMART schools where he is a fulltime coach. "We are really concentrating on the schools and have a large commitment to Honda", he stated
Asked if here was any pressure to perform Bell said, "No, they just want me to race, find my speed and enjoy myself. You love racing and I miss it so together I think the main goal is to have fun, meet people, create awareness for the schools and the sport and see what happens. We're trying to get as many people interested into the sport as possible".
"I really enjoy coaching and Honda SMART and I hope to grow the schools and cater for international riders and countries in the future. I have only just started doing it and as long as I am having fun I will keep doing it. It's really exciting teaching riders and influencing juniors".
"I'm looking forward to the first few rounds, I like the sand and I am training for a good finish, I definitely want to be competitive, we'll have to wait for March the 20th to see how I go", he concluded.
