With the biggest fields and strongest rider line up so far in 2012, Queensland Raceway is set to roar to life this weekend as the YMF Loan Yamaha Australian FX-Superbike Championship hits town with all cylinders firing for two days of faring banging head to head frantic motorcycle racing.
Over 120 riders from all parts of Australia will descend on the Willowbank venue this weekend for an action packed weekend of road racing as Australia searches for the next Casey Stoner or Mick Doohan.
The Factory Yamaha Race Team squad with four riders and two massive team transporters will headline the show but will come under stiff competition from a range of riders and teams all aiming for a shot at the top guns of the sport.
The fast and flowing Queensland Raceway always makes for tight and exciting racing for motorcycles and previous rounds at the circuit has seen races won and lost by less than .1 of a second.
Racing classes include the premier FX-Superbike and the FX 600 class where riders will reach speeds pushing 280kms/hour on machines that pump out close to 200horsepower and weigh 150kilos.
Other race action will include what can be best described as the 'Race what you Brung' Formula OZ class which attracts the most highly modified hot rod race bikes in the country.
Another class not to miss is the booming V-Twins that dominate the FX Pro Twins, Naked bike class. For some of the closest racing it is hard to go past the combined FX125/FX250, 400's and Supermono bikes in the FX Ultra-Lites. In the short lunch break each day Queenslanders can see for the first time the fledgling eFX Electric Bikes class.
