Leading motorsport show RPM will air a comprehensive story on this year's Hog's Breath
Cafe Australian Four Day Enduro this Sunday (April 27) between 1pm and 2pm.
And it won't be the first story RPM has done on the event. The program did at least two in
the lead up.
"We are really excited about the tremendous amount of publicity the four day has received
this year," joint organiser Phil Sargent, of Dirt Bike Promotions, said.
"Several TV news programs both state and national ran stories post and pre-event, three
stories appeared in Victorian state newspaper The Herald Sun, WIN TV and Prime (in VIC
and NSW) covered the event, several radio networks (in VIC and NSW) ran stories and
interviews and more than 30 articles appeared in regional press.
"It's fantastic to see the event finally getting the coverage it deserves... it was also a big
help having Joel Smets at the event and I would like to personally thank BMW Group
Australia for putting in all the effort to get him here and promote him.
"Shooting Star Media's Leigh Hutton also put in a huge effort... the riders and all the
sponsors got heaps of exposure and we are really excited about building on it and
hopefully getting even more national coverage next year."
A Channel 10 crew and RPM reporter were among the TV crews who attended the event,
which was held about an hour and a half east of Melbourne from April 17 - 20.
RPM got several hours of footage of everything from riders working on their bikes to highspeed
action in special tests.
"It was a real coup getting RPM to the event. One of the challenges we face with enduro is
getting the course close enough to towns and cities so people, and media outlets, are able
to come and enjoy it," joint organiser Lyndon Heffernan, of Yamaha Detour Adventure
Tours, said.
"It was great that RPM were able to come and get the footage, they were excited about all
the shots they got and said they won't only use it for the story but will run it for the rest of
the year as well."
The story is expected to include interviews with outright winner of the prestigious race,
Ballard's Yamaha Off-Road Team's Chris Hollis, BMW's Joel Smets, Husqvarna Racing's
Antoine Meo and GHR Honda's Peter Boyle.
