2006 Honda Australian Quad Motocross Championship gets holeshot sponsor

Posted:

McKay Drilling, one of Australia's leading forces in industrial drilling has struck the dirt first and has become the Holeshot prize sponsor for all classes competing in the 2006 Honda Australian Quad Motocross Championship to be held at Wanneroo on the 11 - 12 November. Mark McKay, Managing Director McKay Drilling said: "We'd like to think as a company we're first choice in drilling and first off the line. We think Quad racing is a much under-rated sport in Australia, the latest Sport Quads use cutting edge technology and are continually improving their machines performance levels which is very similar to how we approach our business and we are more than happy to support Honda and what should be a spectacular Australian Championship event." Bethwyn Gaisford, 2006 Honda Australian Quad Motocross Championship Committee Spokesperson said: "Securing the Holeshot award for the event is fantastic news for competitors and spectators as it adds huge excitement and start-line expectations. Spectators will surely be lining the start straight on both sides to check out the action! AJS is a notoriously technical track and winning hole-shot will certainly be an advantage to any rider" The announcement of the McKay Drilling Holeshot prize comes on top of the recent statement from Honda Australia, outlining that the manufacturer has acquired the naming rights sponsorship to the quad racing event. Graham Hines , Honda Territory Manager said: "We're always looking for ways to further support Quad racing in Australia and this truly will be a premium calendar event. Having McKay Drilling come onboard adds an entirely new dimension and its wonderful that the event is attracting such widespread support. I can't wait to be there on the day." Kevin Williams, Event Director, 2006 Honda Australian Quad Championship said that initial support for the event has been strong with local and national companies registering their interest through sponsorship. "Industry support so-far for the Championship has blown us away, Eddie Peters from the Honda Shop in Midland is a long time supporter of Quads has jumped at the opportunity of track naming rights with AJS's infamous Quarry to be known as the Honda Shop Quarry Jump," Williams said. "Izzy from Suspensions R Us has pounced on the Intermediate Class support. A long time supporter of sports quads in Australia the majority of Quads racing the event will be using his Elka long travel suspension kits and the riders a surely thankful for that product, let me tell you." The 2006 Honda Australian Motocross Championships will be held on the 11 - 12 of November at Wanneroo's AJS Motorcycle Club in Western Australia, with Junior & Senior Sports Quad riders and their families coming from all over Australia to compete.
