Darren Herrick and sidecar pairing David Grainger and Stephen Smith emerged from the 2003 Australian Dirt Track Championships at Maryborough (Qld) on September 20-21 with the major spoils ‰ÛÒ four national titles between them. Herrick, already a multiple Australian champion, re-claimed his 500cc motocross title with an emphatic victory in the final race of the meeting on his Honda CR500, the West Wyalong (NSW) rider proving too classy for Kawasaki‰Ûªs Philip Sherd and another Honda rider, Jody Perry. Earlier, Herrick also clinched the 450cc Thumper title with an all-the-way triumph from Craig McDonald (Honda) and Michael Kirkness (Honda). ‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs great to win the two titles in 2003, especially after going without in 2002,‰Û
