This Saturday, 16th August, twelve of the world‰Ûªs most talented FMX riders, including Australia‰Ûªs very own Robbie ‰Û÷Maddo‰Ûª Maddison, will have another chance to prove themselves at the second last stop of Red Bull X-Fighters in Wuppertal, Germany.
Taking place for the very first time at the legendary Oetelshofen Quarry in Wuppertal Germany, thousands of spectators will witness first-hand the brave riders defy the gravel, dust and formidable course to put on an explosive mid-air show of jaw-dropping tricks and impressive jumps, in Germany‰Ûªs FMX contest of the year! The spectacular venue will not only be covered in a vast quantity of rock, rubble and debris but a 6000 square metre track - the largest and the most demanding of the series - will also be constructed to challenge even the most fearsome rider!
The list of high-class riders includes Aussie Guinness World Record Holder for the longest jump on a motorcycle,
Robbie Maddison, previous Red Bull X-Fighters winner
Mat Rebeaud (Switzerland), local FMX legend and crowd favourite,
Busty Wolter (Germany), as well as recent Guinness World Record Holder for the highest air on a motorcycle,
Ronnie Renner (USA).
The most gripping question will be whether Rebeaud will hold his position as the undisputed high-flyer of this year‰Ûªs tour. The Swiss rider has already won three out of four competitions, claiming victory at the series opener in Monumental Plaza de Toros, Mexico, Texas, USA and Madrid, Spain.
This weekend, Rebeaud will face stiff competition against Aussie favourite, Maddison who is not too far behind with a current third place in the overall series. Second place holder,
Jeremy Stenberg (USA) will not be competing in Germany, but will be replaced by previous Red Bull X-Fighters winner, Renner.
Following the competition in Germany, the 2008 Red Bull X-Fighters makes its‰Ûª final stop in Poland on 6th September, where the 2008 Red Bull X-Fighters winner will be revealed!
