Muc-Off Honda Racing’s Mitchell Oldenburg stepped up at round 12 of the FIM World Supercross Championship, achieving a personal best by finishing 14th, after only three races in the 450 class.

“This is only my sixth time riding this bike and my third race on a 450 so to finish 14th is awesome, I am pretty pumped with how the night turned out,” said Oldenburg.

Riding consistently and coming from 20th to 14th, Oldenburg navigated his way around one of the most challenging tracks so far this season.

“I made a few passes which was great and I am getting more comfortable on the 450 with each ride. I am not sure if Justin will be back for Atlanta, but I will be better prepared if he isn’t.” Oldenburg added.

Muc-Off Honda Racings’s 250 rider Mitchell Harrison started the day the same way he finished the previous round, qualifying 8th and feeling strong. Unfortunately a crash coming out of turn one collected him and brought him down hard.

“One rider jumped across the track and hit me and another rider. I had nowhere to go and I crashed out pretty hard. I damaged my bike and didn’t feel 100% so I rode back to the track to straighten the bike out and prepare for the last chance qualifier.” Harrison said.

Harrison lined up for the LCQ still feeling the after affects from the crash. Whilst in a transfer position he was hit by another rider and fell again, ending his hopes for a place in the final.

“I can’t believe the turn of events. I know we are getting better and the bike feels amazing. The crash in the heat was unavoidable and really took its toll on me. I will focus on recovery and getting ready for Atlanta.” Harrison finished.

The teams regular 450 rider Justin Brayton had an eventful night working with the media. He commentated qualifying and the event opening. Brayton will see his local doctor this week to determine the best recovery plan.
