For the first half of the 2013 we have been running a set of Scott 350 MX Apparel in the red and black Hyper colour-way.

It is not the first time we have reviewed Scott racing apparel, as I spent a good portion of my riding time early in 2012 in a set of Scott 450 riding gear, a set of gear I found to be quite good.

Starting at the bottom, I have found the Scott 350 pants to very comfortable and very well fitting. Made from a 600D Nylon and pre shaped to fit the rider while in the attack position, the Scott 350 pant has proven to be durable and easy fitting.

Last year my only issue with the Scott apparel was the amount of room around the knee area. I always had to spend a little time getting the pants to sit in the right spot with knee braces on.

The 2013 350 pants have not given me the same issue. The room around the knee for 2013 has been increased slightly and apart form the initial time I pulled the pants on, they have fitted perfectly, with plenty of room for the my knee braces to sit with out getting caught up on the inside of the pants.

The Micro adjustable ratchet closing system to keep the pants secure at the top has been faultless, even with a bit of fluctuation in weight and size around the stomach this year, the pants have continued to sit nicely around the hips.

The leather protection on the inside of knee has done its job and his holding up well, though like most race pants with leather knee inners, spraying leather protector on early in the piece helps with their longevity.

The only odd thing with the 350 pant is the giant rubber logo on the top right hand side of the pant. It is a cool looking Scott Logo no doubt, but it is quite a heavy bit of rubber that does not serve mush of a purpose apart from looking good.

The 100% polyester 350 jersey does it's job nicely. The new sublimated graphics has stoop up to some pretty harsh conditions and plenty of cycles in the wash and has not faded one bit.

In fact with the jersey currently sitting in front of me fresh from another wash cycle ready to be loaded in to the gear bag for this weekend, there are not any stains to be seen, pretty impressive after the muddy conditions it has seen in recent times.

The Lycra sleeve cuff is a nice little feature on the jersey, helping to keep a snug fit around the forearm.

If you read our review on the Scott 450 apparel from last year, you would know how much of a fan of the 450 gloves I was at the time, actually the most disappointing thing that happened to me at the end of last year was losing one of those gloves!

The 2013 350 glove as expected is a lot different to the higher end 450 glove. While the 450 glove still has a Velcro closing system and plenty of extra padding around the palm area of the glove, the newly designed for 2013 350 glove is a lot more like the new age gloves that we see from most apparel manufactures.

Scott have gone with a minimalist approach, with a single layer palm and a simple slip on design including a spandex upper, a polyester palm and a no-slip neoprene cuff.

The good news is out of the five pairs of gloves that I have sitting in my gear bag, the Scott gloves are still the first gloves I reach for, especially if longer periods of time are going to be spent on the bike.

To date, the slip on cuff has worked wonders with the glove holding firmly in place at all times. The palm area has provided plenty of grip while fabric used around the thumb area of the glove along with the extra padding has meant that they are the only set of gloves that I currently own that do not have a blood stain on them where I usually rub away the skin on the top of my thumb.

All in all the Scott 350 riding gear has been a great set of gear and at less than $200 for a full set up including Pants, Jersey and Gloves offers great value for money.
