Yamaha Racing Reset For Motul MX Nationals Round Two

Posted:

Round two of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals roars to life this weekend at Appin Raceway, southwest of Sydney, with Yamaha Racing there in full force and looking to make their presence felt.

Each of the championship classes at the event have a dedicated Yamaha factory support team with CDR Yamaha handling the MX1 (450cc) duties, Serco Yamaha in MX2 (250cc) and Yamalube Yamaha Racing in MXD. This weekend they will also be joined by some members of the Yamaha Junior Racing Team as they will contest in the 125cc Rookies Cup.

An up and down day for the CDR Yamaha team at round one of the Horsham with Dean Ferris taking third place, highlighted with a moto win while Daniel Reardon came home in seventh with 4-9 results. Both riders admitted to making costly eras in the second moto which cost them a better result and the team has again emphasized the importance of consistency in this series and minimizing mistakes.

‰ÛÏAs a team, I felt round one wasn‰Ûªt as smooth and seamless as I would have liked,‰Û

Like CDR Yamaha, Serco also racked up a race win at Horsham when young gun, Wilson Todd, charged his way to the front of the pack in race two of the MX2 class in his debut for Serco at the MX Nationals. Combined with an eighth in moto one, Todd finished in fourth place for the round in what is a very tight championship table.

Wade Hunter had a tough day but never gave up. Crashes in both motos slowed his progress but he more determined than ever to bounce back at round two and get his championship back on track.

‰ÛÏAfter race one at Horsham, both riders were really hard on themselves but as we pointed out it‰Ûªs a long championship and there is time to recover. Wilson taking the win in moto two was a sensational ride while Wade did the best he could given his circumstances. Both riders are fighters so I never question their determination and I expect them to be fired up this weekend,‰Û

It was a weekend to forget for the MXD duo of Mitch Evans and Jordan Hill at round one. A first turn pile up saw both riders involved and the last to get away then moto two saw a freak mechanical and another crash top off an unlucky weekend.

But both riders are out to redeem themselves from round one and get the train back on the track.

‰ÛÏWe have dug a hole for ourselves after a tough opening round,‰Û
