Yamaha Racing Looking For Continued Success At 2014 A4DE

Posted:

Preparations are done, plans are in place and in just a few days, Yamaha‰Ûªs factory supported off road race teams and riders will tackle the 2014 Yamaha Australian Four Day Enduro, held near Dungog, NSW.

The A4DE has long been seen as the pinnacle of Australian motorcycle enduro racing and a highly sort after crown in racing circles. The event kicks off on August 11 and Yamaha well have a huge presence with two factory supported teams and a host of individual riders all vying for the 2014 crown.

The CDR Yamaha Off Road team will spearhead the charge with Daniel Milner and Chris Hollis on board, both competing for Outright and class honours in the premier E2 (450cc) division. Milner is the two-time and reigning A4DE champion after his win in 2013 in WA.

Milner is now fully recovered from his broken ankle earlier in the season and will be looking to get his YZ450F back on top of the podium for the third time running and continue his domination of the event.

Chris Hollis is no stranger to success at the A4DE having previous won the event and been a class champion. Hollis, who will pilot a WR450F, is familiar with the Riverwood Downs venue and has been in good form recently taking good results for the last round of the AORC.

The Active8 Yamaha will be out in full force, fielding a four rider team in a range of racing categories. Josh Green and Beau Ralston will run the team colours in the E2 class, both mounted on YZ450F‰Ûªs. Green and Ralston live in NSW and not far from the 2014 venue and hope to draw on local support and knowledge to give them the edge over the four days racing.

Tom McCormack continues to take on the E1 (250cc) duties and will be looking to take class honours. McCormack currently leads the E1 class at the AORC after 10 rounds and has been the man to beat all season but he will face still competition at the A4DE and will need to be at his best to continue his 2014 success.

Stefan Granquist will again handle the E3 class representation on his WR475F. Granquist is a solid and reliable as the day is long and his riding style, technique and attitude are well suited to the four day style of racing and he again will be a factor come Saturday afternoon.

Yamaha will also have plenty of riders on a wide range of bikes throughout the event and looking to make their presence felt. Josh Strang returns from the USA to ride with Active8 support on a YZ450F and will no doubt be a contender for outright honours. Strang, the former Inverell, NSW local, now based in the USA, has returned home for the event and his form in the US indicates he could be the man to beat.

Jemma Wilson and Emilie Karlsson will again duke it out for the win in the Women‰Ûªs class with both riders on the Yamaha YZ250F. Both girls have had plenty of success in the past and hope that continues this year.

Kirk Hutton will on his YZ450F and contest the Veterans class. The former multi time national champion has stepped back his racing in recent years but still knows his way around the bush and his vast for day experience will again be put to use as he battles a high quality field.

The action starts on Tuesday with the prologue getting under way to determine the starting order for the racing proper on Wednesday. The event then runs through four days of trail and special tests before the winner is determined after the final motocross moto on Saturday afternoon.
