Yamaha riders again filled the podium and then some, at the opening round of the Australian Superbike Championship in the 600cc Supersport category, over the weekend.
The Yamaha R6 has again proven to be the standout choice in the ultra- competitive 600cc class filling the top positions on both Saturday and Sunday‰Ûªs events. 16 out of the 26 riders entered in the class were Yamaha mounted as racers decide with their wallets on the quality of the production Yamaha R6.
At Saturday's FX Supersport Nationals competition competitors had their first hit out of the year as they chase series points with the winner of the Yamaha Motor Finance sponsored event taking home a sparkling 2015 Yamaha R1 for their efforts.
Aaron Morris got the jump on the field on Saturday and won all three races contested. Morris was in top form and successfully fended off spirited challenges from Aiden Wagner to take top spot on the day with the maximum 75 points.
Wagner was hot on the heels of Morris in all three races and took second for the round. Callum Spriggs rounded out the podium in third, with fellow Yamaha rider Daniel Falzon in fourth.
