Yamaha Elite Training Program pays dividends

Posted:

Yamaha's Elite Training Program has paid big dividends in 2009 with several of its graduate athletes winning national motorcycle titles. The course, which was launched in 2007 by motocross legend Stephen Gall, is open to all Yamaha supported racers and offers industry leading training in order to improve race results. During 2009, Yamaha Elite Training Program (YETP) athletes posted three national championships with Bryan Staring securing the Australian Supersport 600cc title, team mate Pat Medcalf taking out the Australian Superstock 1000cc title and off road gun Jarrod Bewley winning the A4DE outright. In addition, a number of fantastic class wins, junior and state titles have been secured as well as some solid placings which are worthy rewards for the effort that each rider has made with the Elite Training Program. The 2009 YETP honours list reads:
Bryan Staring 1st Australian 600cc Supersport
Pat Medcalf 1st Australian Superstock 1000 Championship

Yamaha said, "We would like to congratulate all riders in the 2009 YETP for their effort and commitment to training and racing throughout the year and look forward to an equally successful 2010 program." The Stephen Gall Training (SGT) Base Training Camps offered by YETP are the first to be implemented within the Australian motorcycling industry, specifically for elite motorcycle racers. The camps are designed to provide physiological, nutritional and psychological guidance and support to our athletes during the pre-season period. This ensures a thorough preparation to lead them into the next racing season. At the completion of the pre-season and the commencement of the race season, all riders are provided with a program combining on bike training with aerobic, strength, core strength and flexibility conditioning. A comprehensive race season monitoring system ensures each riders training is suited to them and continues to gain optimal results. Main Photo: A4DE Outright winner Jarrod Bewley
