Yamaha Motor Australia has confirmed the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup will return in November 2026, once again running alongside the Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) series.
The Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup is designed to be more than just a race series, giving young motocross riders and their families a unique experience with access to Yamaha Motor Australia’s professional race teams.
The concept is built around making every participant and their family feel like part of the Yamaha factory race team for the day, with the BLU CRU experience designed to create memories that last well beyond the racing.
The 2026 Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup is open to riders aged nine to 12, providing them with the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a factory rider while competing at an Australian Supercross Championship event.
Yamaha Motor Australia Customer Activation Coordinator Jake Belford said the program has continued to prove popular with young riders since its introduction in 2018.
“YMA has been providing this unique experience since 2018 and has proved super popular for young guns starting out in the sport,” Belford said.
He added that it has also been rewarding to see riders who have previously competed in the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup go on to achieve success at the highest levels of the sport.
“It’s great to see former Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup riders achieve success at the top level – such as 2026 FIM World Junior Motocross Champion Blake Bohannon,” Belford said.
While results are naturally part of the competition, Yamaha Motor Australia’s focus remains on ensuring every young rider enjoys the experience and takes away lasting memories.
The company says that by exposing riders and their families to the wider Yamaha family at the racetrack, it also hopes to keep YZ65 customers involved in the BLU CRU program as they progress through the sport.
All YZ65 riders who meet the requirements are encouraged to apply, although places are limited and the grid will be capped at each event.
Safety also remains a key priority, with Yamaha Motor Australia aiming to ensure the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup is a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
Before submitting an entry, parents are asked to assess their child’s riding ability and determine whether they will be comfortable competing in a competitive environment on a modified supercross track.
All riders must hold a current Motorcycling Australia (MA) licence and will also be required to provide valid proof of age.
Yamaha Motor Australia remains committed to supporting grassroots dirt bike riding and will provide extensive media coverage of the Yamaha BLU CRU YZ65 Cup throughout the series.
Parents looking to get their young riders onto the grid are encouraged to register their interest before September 14, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified via email or telephone before September 30, 2026.
