The FIM Speedway Grand Prix series makes a welcome return to Germany when Teterow‰Ûªs Bergring Arena stages the 2016 German FIM Speedway Grand Prix on September 10.
The venue in north-east Germany ‰ÛÒ just two hours from the Polish border and three hours from Denmark ‰ÛÒ regularly plays host to FIM Speedway Grand Prix riders.
The nation‰Ûªs speedway profile was given a huge boost in 2014 when Martin Smolinski made his full-time SGP debut with victory in the New Zealand SGP in Auckland, while a raft of youngsters have shown great promise on the international stage.
This has increased calls for the sport‰Ûªs biggest names to return to Germany and BSI Speedway managing director Torben Olsen is glad to see a passionate speedway nation back on the SGP calendar.
‰ÛÏWe‰Ûªve had a lot of fans asking when we will be returning to Germany on our social media channels, so we‰Ûªre glad the German SGP is back for 2016." Olsen said. ‰ÛÏGerman fans continue to turn out in great numbers for domestic and international events and we hope they‰Ûªre as excited as we are to see the sport‰Ûªs biggest stars in Teterow next year.
‰ÛÏWith the town relatively close to the Polish and Danish borders, the event looks set to attract a very international crowd. We look forward to a superb night of world-class racing.‰Û
