Husqvarna's Max Nagl has trumped not only Antonio Cairoli and Ryan Villopto, but showed he will be a force to be reckoned with, winning both races at the opening round of the 2015 Monster Energy World Motocross Championship held in Qatar in the early hours of this morning.

Nagl lead home Rockstar Suzuki's Clement Desale in both races, with Gautier Paulin and Cairoli finished the event tied on 38 points with Paulin taking the final step on the podium thanks to his better result in race two.

Ryan Villopoto suffered from stalling his bike and crashes in the first moto to finish ninth, then raced to a 7th place finish in moto 2 to finish ther round 7th overall.

Australian's Todd Waters and Dean Ferris had mixed results, with Waters impressing in race one and the majority of the second moto when he worked his way back through the field from outside the top 20, making his way to 12th before falling back in the final stages to finish 14th overall for the round.

Ferris finished 20th for the round after scoring no points in the opening moto.

Jeffrey Herlings won both MX2 races, while Livia Lancelot done likewise in the Women's class, with Aussie Meghan Rutledge finishing the round in 3rd.
