Womens National Cup reborn

Victoria's Horsham Motorcycle Club in conjunction with Williams Event Management (WEM) will run the Womens National Cup as part of the clubs two day open meeting on Oct 29th and 30th. WEM director Kevin Williams said, "As part of our commitment to womens racing we had planned the Womens National Cup to be part of the Thumper Nats series, since this did not go ahead we wanted to still see the womens event go ahead. We have supported womens racing for many years now and will add three rounds to the 2006 National Championship". "Yamaha have also pledged commitment once again and with them we look forward to doing all we can to see womens motocross grow into the future" he added. Horsham, which is located close to the South Australian border, has been a regular host of a round of the Maxxis Australian Motocross Championship and offers top class facilities and circuit. Classes for the event will be:

50cc Div 2 (6-U/9)
65cc 7-U/13 years
85cc 9-U/12 years
85cc BW 12-U/16 years
Junior Lites (125/250 4 St combined)
Senior All powers
Women‰Ûªs 125 / 250 4st

Along with the womens racing a senior graded allpower challenge will feature with each grade racing for good prize money. There will as be a Junior Lite feature, the 125's going up against the 250's. Main Photo: Womens action from 2004
