The Insure My Ride Melbourne Enduro-X have answered calls and added a woman‰Ûªs class to the already extensive range of classes that will race on the 3rd February 2013.
Organisers Dave and Colin Robbins recently visited the Australian 4 Day Enduro and spoke with the women riders of Australia and it was clear there was a demand to add this class to the event.
Jess Gardiner, Australia's number 1 woman rider approached the event organisers and asked "Why don't you have a woman‰Ûªs class?"
Unable to come up with a reasonable excuse, Dave and Col had no option but to fill the gap that was missing.
Also new for 2013 is a junior class showcasing the stars of tomorrow and aimed at getting younger riders experienced at enduro-x
The Insure My Ride Melbourne Enduro-X aims to showcase the best Australian riders to the public that would not normally go to spectate in remote Enduro tracks around the country.
Aussie women are amongst the best in the World and their recent 3rd place at this year‰Ûªs ISDE in Germany is a testament to that.
"The track will be challenging for the women but not impossible and I'm sure the women will provide great racing and entertainment for the spectators." Commented Dave Robbins
The event is fast becoming an international event with riders not only coming from Victoria, NSW, South Australia and Queensland. We have finalised negotiations with some American riders as well as a confirmed German rider.
Spectators will also get to see the new all-wheel drive Christini motorcycles in race action. A huge trade alley will greet spectators on entering the race venue.
The track is well underway with extensive works taking place at Calder Park. Organisers have put in around 750 truckloads of dirt into the spectator area to create a natural amphitheatre so no one will miss any action.
Dave Robbins is confident that the venue being used for 2013 will provide spectators the best possible viewing options with the new venue still allowing fans of the sport to get up close to the on track action.
"The event will have great vantage points on top of the Thunderdome and now down the sides of the arena with what we have built.
"Dave stated.
"We won't be taking away the up close and personal feel of the 2012 event either with spectators literally metres away from their favourite racers." he added.
