Australian Wilson Todd has cracked the top ten in the MX2 World Championship at last weekends MXGP of Great Britain and feels he is getting fitter and faster each weekend
In timed practice, the Australian was 17th fastest. He then went on to pick up his first top 10 finish in 10th place. In race two a similar performance from Todd saw him pick up an 11th, a consistent finish rewarding him with 8th overall.
“A solid weekend, improving more and more each week,” Todd said. “My fitness is coming back along with some speed. I can’t complain about 10-11 for 8th overall, nice and consistent and i was riding in my comfort zone.”
Bike It MTX Kawasaki team manager, Steve Dixon, who was also the promoter of the event, was happy with Todd’s performance.
“With Wilson still regaining fitness after his arm pump surgery, he gave solid performances,” Dixon said. “He looked at home in the position he finished. We have a lot more to come from the bike and from rider race fitness, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the season progresses. It’s important to be finishing every race throughout the season and gaining points no matter how small they are. Hopefully, we can get some more solid rides in Maggiora. “
Todd now site 12th in the MX2 World Championship on 33 points and will be back in action as he heads straight to Italy for round three at the legendary Maggiora track.
