Willis and Hambridge double up in AMCROSS series opener

Posted:

Adam Hambridge and Errol Willis emerged with double wins in their respective senior and junior classes over the weekend (March 1 and 2) during the opening round of the 2008 AMCROSS Series that was held in the Far South Coast township of Bega, NSW. In both 250cc 4-stroke C Grade Group 2 and Over 450cc 4-stroke C Grade Group 2 classes Hambridge managed to take the overall victory in both, while Willis was far too strong for his rivals over the course of the weekend by completely dominating both the 85cc 14 to Under 15 Years and 125cc 13 to Under 15 Years classes by claiming three from three race wins in the two classes. With the junior classes being held on the Saturday, aside from the dominance of Willis, other class winners included: Zach Madden (65cc 7 to Under 9 Years), Tyler Gear (65cc 10 to Under 12 Years), Troy Tasker (85cc 9 to Under 11 Years), Jarred Davis (85cc 12 to Under 13 Years), Bradley Machut (250cc 4-stroke 13 to Under 15 Years), and Trevor Jordan won the Parents event that was staged on the same day. Large fields made up the seniors on Sunday and overall wins, apart from Hambridge, went to Brook Mitchell (125cc C Grade), Paul Crocker (250cc and Above 2-stroke C Grade), Carl Flynn (250cc 4-stroke C Grade Group 1), Jake Haddrill (Over 250cc 4-stroke C Grade Group 1), Brett Moffatt (Over 35's All Powers), Gary Brown (Over 45's All powers), Danielle Rutledge (Ladies All Powers), Michael Crump (A and B Grade Lites), and Paul Grant (A and B Grade Open). The second round of the AMCROSS Series is to be held on April 5 and 6 at the Ti-Tree MVRG in Cooma
