Off Road

Wild times to be had Wildwood Rock this weekend

Posted:

At the top of the list as one of the richest extreme events in the world the Force Accessories Wildwood Rock is upon us again this weekend, 20th of November.

This weekend marks only the second running of the event but if last year event is anything to go on it is one that shouldn't be missed. Wildwood is not your average off road event with it molded more in the shape of World class extreme events such as the famed Erzberg.

The 2012 version is shaping up to be a great challenge for all classes over the 3 hour time frame. Many top quality Australian riders, such as Mitch Harper, Mat Phillips, Stefan Merriman, Glen Kearney, Josh Green and Danial Milner, signed up along with special guest rider Graham Jarvis from the UK.

With such a line up there is even more reason to get along to see the show and first hand why Jarvis is at the top of the list in events like Erzberg, Sea to Sky, Hell's gate and Romaniacs.

40 riders have been brave enough put their hands up for the 2011 event on what is one of Australia's toughest courses.

From the 2010 Honda Wildwood Rock event the track has seen so many changes this year that even returning riders will be up for a big surprise with the upgrades and advanced improvements. With weather playing a big role in this, hill climbs and rocky down hills are sure to see riders think twice about their approach.

So if you want to see riders going over bricks, balancing beams, logs, tyres, rocks and not to mention through house frames, bog holes and unforgettable ute tubs ypu want to be a Tullamarine this weekend.

These are just a few of the trials riders will face as they push to grab the Sunbury Bakers Delight $1000 for the fastest prologue time from 9am.

Once the prologue is out of the way riders will line up 10 wide and set off for the 3 hour time that could earn the lead rider a massive $10,000. While the riders make it around the track spectators can view all of the great products while kicking back to the high quality live bands that will be on show all day long.

This event is all about putting on a great show for spectators and that is what you will get at the 2011 Force Accessories Wildwood Rock Extreme.

If you live in Melbourne the event is just behind Tullamarine airport and well worth the trip out on Sunday.

Gates open at 8am, Prologue 9am and main event at 11:30am.
