WEM, (Willimas Event Management) today announced that they are now looking at an August start to this years MX Store Mx Nationals.
With both national and state governments now looking at a much longer-term lockdown than most sporting organisers initially thought, WEM is continually monitoring the situation and will look to release a calendar late in May 2020.
"We have been watching both the NRL and AFL regarding the comments they have been making around resuming their codes," Kevin Willams stated in the WEM announcement.
"After listening to PM Scott Morrison this morning and trying to look at a realistic model, we are planning on a return to racing in August and running through into October. It is still our full intention in planning to run all nine rounds across the six weekends.
"We plan to release the actual calendar in late May, subject to social distancing announcements from the state and the federal government.
"The racing in 2020 will definitely need some adjustment from all of us, but together we will be racing, and the gates will drop."
