Valentino Rossi keen on two more years in MotoGP

Posted:

Movistar Yamaha's Valentino Rossi has told Sky Italia that he will either continue in MotoGP for two more years or retire at the end of the 2016 season.

The Movistar Yamaha rider's current contract expires at the end of this year, and he has said that he will not consider signing on the dotted line for a one-year deal.

"At the end of 2016 my contract will expire," the seven-time MotoGP World Champion said. "So I will have to decide whether to continue for another two seasons or not.

"If I continue, it will be for two seasons as all the contracts are for two years."

Regardless of what decision he comes to, Rossi plans to make a call on his future sooner rather than later.

‰ÛÏIt will be like in 2014, when I said that I would decide after the first few races."

The down to the wire battle with Jorge Lorenzo last year proved the 36-year-old still has what it takes but like most riders he would like to get the first few races of the new season under their belt before he even contenplait his future.

One thing is for sure, with a bit over half a dizen factory riders out of coontract at the end of the season things will surley heat up fast in the rider movement stakes. Stay tuned!
