Other riders we know of either out with Injury or carrying injuries are
Ross Beaton who by the sounds of things has done some damage and will be missing from round one, I am still hoping this is not true and will endeavour to try and get hold of Beaton as soon as possible.
Sam Duncanson has a nasty crash and suffered some nasty injuries and will be out for awhile though it sounds like he will heal with a bit of time.
Beau Ralston is now out of round one, I spoke to him late last week and he was excited to go racing, however while heading out for a ride on the weekend , riding through the bush on the way to the track he has hit his hand on a tree and broken a bone, he will look to be ready for round 2.
Kale Makeham will make it to the gate for round one but has spent more time in the Dentist chair than he would have liked have a couple of procedures a week ago he endured a double root Canal on Monday to top things off heading into round 1.
Jay Marmont was rumoured to be carrying an injury that has been confirmed by a couple of posts on his twitter page over the past few days, though it sounds like he is ready to go and will be on the gate at Conondale. "Knee is starting to get stronger. Sometime this wk I need to blow the cobwebs out of this bike"
On the international scene riders seem to be coming back from Injury nearly as quickly as they are being injured! More riders hit the deck at the Indy round of the AMA Supercross series which resulted in both
James Stewart and
Nick Wey being the latest big names to be sidelined during the Supercross series. IT also looks like Former Lites superX champion
PJ Larsen has done some damage at the latest round of the American Sx tour in Canada.
Coming back from injury this week was
Will Hahn who after making a quick recovery scored a ride aboard
Trey Canards Vacant Factory Honda. Speaking of Canard he tweeted this during the week "Had a few questions on my recovery, things are going well, out of the shell now and becoming more normal. No outdoors for me though." Good to hear he is coming along well though it sucks we will not see him outdoors this year.
Aussie
Michael Byrne also tweeted some good news during the week " Good doctor visit today everything looks good enough to start back riding again. Just need a MRI to confirm everything #pumped" would be great to see Byrne get back on a bike shortly and build towards the AMA Nationals.
Dean Ferris looks like he is going to only miss the opening round of the FIM World Championship with his elbow injury healing up well, getting really excited to watch Ferris in action this year, though with a 60 Euro price tag to watch this year’s series I am going to have to see the account about squeezing it into my budget!
One of the other cool things we seen in the world of Facebook this week were some images of the Berry Sweet Lucas Oils Yamaha team. The team bikes are looking sweet and you can see them for yourself by clicking
HERE While you are there Like the Craig Anderson Racing page!, there were also a few images of the new paint job on the Serco Hauler popping up with their new Metal Mulisha livery.
We ran a poll on Facebook last week asking who would win the MX2 class at this year’s Monster Energy MX Nationals with the clear winner from that Poll being Carlton Dry Honda Racing Thor rider
Ford Dale with a 43 Votes, Rounding out the podium was
Errol Willis in second with 24 votes with
Kade Mosig and
Kirk Gibbs sharing the final step of the Podium with 17 Votes.
Other riders who also polled well were
Luke Styke and
Josh Cachia, the surprise rider with a few votes was
Todd Waters if he can win the MX2 class while entered in the MX1 class he will be doing well. It will be interesting to look back at this at the end of the year and see how close it was
We have another poll running for this week for the run into round one asking who will win the MX 1 class, early leader last night after 56 votes was
Tye Simmonds with 21 votes from Jay Marmont with 14, then
Brad Anderson with 10 and Todd Waters with 9, it will be interesting to see how this one goes.
