The Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, rolls into Southwick this weekend for Round 5, and with the East Coast location making travel easier, a few familiar faces are returning to the gate—including TJ Albright.
While his appearance wasn’t unexpected, what did catch many by surprise was his return not as a privateer, but as a new recruit to the Phoenix Racing Factory Connection Honda team.
TJ Albright spoke with Fullnoise ahead of his first laps with the squad and shared how excited he was to be back in the series, especially with strong team backing. He revealed that he hadn’t planned on racing outdoors at all this season, but had been “staying ready just in case” an opportunity came up.
Now, with the Phoenix team needing a fill-in rider due to injuries—an all-too-common situation during a long season—Albright steps in at short notice. He’ll line up in the 250cc class aboard a Honda and, with only a few days on the bike, will be looking to make the most of the opportunity.
