The second round of the 2025 MXGP World Championship in Cozar, Spain, is a significant race for Tim Gajser as he looks to rewrite the chapter from 2024, where he narrowly missed out on his sixth world title.
Despite the disappointment of last season’s finale at this venue, the Slovenian rider is determined to put the past behind him and focus on the 2025 title challenge.
Gajser, who secured third place finishes in all three points-scoring races in Argentina, is currently third in the championship standings. While he would have liked to have won more races, he is focused on the long season ahead and the opportunities to climb to the top of the podium. A win in Cozar would not only improve his standing but also help erase the negative memories from 2024.
“It wasn’t my best opening round, but it also wasn’t my worst,” Gajser commented. “The important thing is that I scored good points and didn’t make any big errors. I kept things steady. I hope to do better in the upcoming rounds, and that starts this weekend in Spain. Of course, it isn’t a place that holds great memories, but I believe they’ve done some work on the track, and hopefully, that’ll make it better. I will go out there and try to create some much nicer memories this year.”
With renewed motivation, Gajser is ready to take on Cozar and aim for the podium, marking the beginning of a strong push for the 2025 MXGP title.
