THR 2-Seater Experience ‰ÛÒ The Thrill of a Lifetime!

Posted:

Team Honda Racing‰Ûªs latest success on the track comes not just from their event-winning performance at the recent Australian Superbike Championship Round in Darwin, but from the broad smiles recorded on the faces of all the guests at the latest Team Honda Racing 2-Seater Experience!

Held at Sydney Motorsport Park on Monday, the Factory Honda Superbike riders, #27 Jamie Stauffer and #34 Josh Hook, created memories not soon forgotten for those brave enough to don the leathers and grip the handles tightly as they flew around the GP Circuit at speeds in excess of 260km/hr.

The guests were extremely animated in the pits with much laughter and banter as they prepared for their pillion ride with many a nervous smile being concealed beneath the helmet. However, the excitement and thrill of the Hot Lap could not be contained for the majority of pillions as the Honda CBR1000RR pulled back into pit lane and they tried to explain the exhilaration of their experience.

There were guests both local and interstate in attendance on the day including many of the Team Honda Racing sponsors and their associated guests; AWS Vantage, Honda Motorcycle Insurances, Doric Products, Bank of Queensland and Western Freight Management.

Along with the team‰Ûªs valued sponsors, there was an added treat on the day with some familiar celebrity faces enjoying the adrenaline rush. Motorcycle Legend, Daryl Beattie decided that it was time to relinquish control on a motorcycle for just that day, taking a Hot Lap with Superbike rider Josh Hook ‰ÛÒ Daryl‰Ûªs first ever pillion ride! His verdict? He loved it!

Barry Dubois from Channel 10‰Ûªs The Living Room was eager to take the Hot Lap experience again, having recently done so at Phillip Island for the launch of the 2013 Australian MotoGP. Barry is completely ‰ÛÏHooked‰Û

As if a Hot Lap onboard a Motologic-prepared Team Honda Racing CBR1000RR was not enough, guests were also treated to other fantastic activities on the day; a session with Honda Australia Rider Training (HART) where they took on a number of ride activities and challenges, Stunt Driving School with a V8 Supercar Instructor and a Motokana 4-wheel driving skills test. What a day!

Team Honda Racing welcomed the Steven Walter Foundation to the day complete with the Honda CBR1000RR custom-built by Motologic which the charity is currently raffling to raise money for research into children‰Ûªs cancer. The Steven Walter Foundation does a fantastic job in not only raising awareness of children‰Ûªs cancer, but also raising much needed funds to aid in research for a cure.

With many projects throughout the year to achieve their goals, the SWF has been supported by Honda Australia for over 10 years. Team Honda Racing has a strong belief in the work of the SWF and is pleased to support the foundation.

Honda Australia‰Ûªs Glyn Griffiths was the official MC for the day and Team Honda Racing would like to thank Glyn and indeed Honda MPE for their continued support. Thanks also to all the team sponsors without whom such thrilling days would not be possible.

As Jamie Stauffer and Josh Hook return their focus to the more serious job at hand, racing in the Australian Superbike Championship, the Honda riders and indeed the entire team at Team Honda Racing would like to thank everyone involved in the THR 2-Seater Experience for making it another terrific success.
