It’s time to start going East. Well at least for one week. This week marks the season opener for the East Coast 250 Supercross series when the racing hits Detroit this Saturday.

We have a whole list full of new riders to follow along with and understand what’s gone on for their pre-season journeys.

The team I’m most interested to hear from but as yet have been left wanting more from is definitely the Star Racing Yamaha boys. From the sprain wrist comments of Haiden Deegan in the pre-conference this week. To Nick Romano having a shoulder injury in the off-season. Along with the talk that Daxton Bennick at the end of last year was hit by a car during training, all leave me with questions over. What’s true? If it is true how serious were these incidents and potential injuries and what is their true fitness level and race readiness come Saturday night? Something that only a main event will display is their fitness. Along with those post-race interviews where some of these stories will be commented on and more details might be presented to us all to understand.

I went through the list on the podcast in depth. But a lot of Riders on this East Coast for the 250 class are coming off injury. Jeremey Martin, Seth Hammaker, Cameron Mcadoo, Austin Forkner, Haiden Deegan, Chance Hymas, and Gulliem Farres to name a few. Not to mention some team changes and new manufacturers kicking off life in 2024. Enter Triumph into the Supercross mix.

In the 450 side. It has been quite the opening 4 rounds. 4 different winners. 4 very different events from mud, to dry to triple crowns etc. But this week marks a move back inside a stadium roof, and the usual 20+1 main event format. There is however a change to the overall format that will see the 450 heats and LCQ run before the 250s this week. The 450 Main remains the last event of the program. but will that format change upset any of the contenders this week?

Enzo Lopes and Adam Cianciarulo make the big-name announcements this week for injuries. Enzo has confirmed that he will miss at least this week’s opener in Detroit following an off-season issue that has taken longer to resolve than expected. Whilst Adam Cianciarulo will miss 2-4 rounds whilst he recovers from a bone fracture that was only confirmed this week. An injury he had been riding through since the opening round of AMA Supercross.

In Aussie news, Aaron Tanti is back in the gym following the surgery on his shoulder that he discussed with AlwaysMoto on the podcast a few weeks back. He is making good improvements and is on track to return to the US scene very soon.
