Seth Hammaker will miss the Opening East Coast round due to a wrist injury sustained during Pre-Season training/practice.

Red Flags, Medics getting hit by bikes and aggressive tweets from riders at other riders. San Diego was a busy night.

But round 4 this weekend is back to Anaheim or Triple Crown which is guaranteed to bring more action. Not to mention the busy and long-looking track.

Eli Tomac and Jett Lawrence continued their winning ways in San Diego.

On the injury front some uncomfortable injuries and more guys on concussion protocols this week. details below.

Injured What? Left Shoulder/Arm. Reports from Levi’s socials this week have him sore but ok.

Derek Drake #53 – BarX Suzuki

Injured When? San Diego

Injured What? Fracture Left Humeral Head/Neck.

Return to Riding Timeframe – 6-8 weeks pending surgical recovery initially.

Next race prediction – May be ready to go for the West Coast round at Seattle in late March.

Mitchell Harrison #84 – AJE GasGas

Injured When? San Diego

Injured What? unclear

Next race prediction – as above. I’m still unclear

Colby Copp #645 – Team Next Level Racing

Injured When? San Diego

Injured What? A Concussion in the heat race that caused the red flag restart.

Return to Riding Timeframe – 1 week pending him passing the AMA concussion protocols.

Next race prediction – Anaheim 2

Henry Miller #66 – TiLube Honda

Injured When? San Diego

Injured What? Some minor cuts and bruises along with some neck and upper torso stiffness but no major injuries according to Henry’s chat with us this week. Henry is looking forward to Anaheim 2 on the 450 and then East Coast 250 as his main focus in 2wks.

Max Miller #604 – Privateer

Injured When? San Diego

Injured What? The unfortunate genital area. As everyone who was watching Race Day Live saw he checked the “Boys” right away. Max confirmed with AlwaysMoto that he is all fine. Just an untimely handlebar to the Family Jewels.

Marvin Musquin #25 – RedBull KTM

Injured When? Mid-week prior to San Diego

Injured What? Wrist. But details are limited still

Next race prediction – Unclear at the time of writing this.

Austin Forkner #55 – Pro Circuit Kawasaki

Injured When? Anaheim 1

Injured What? Right Knee and Left Hand. The Right knee is the main issue. ACL Tear, Partial tears to PCL and MCL ligaments. Both Medial and Lateral Meniscus tears and a tibial Plateau fracture.

Return to Riding Timeframe – 6-9 months pending graft type used for ACL repair

Next race prediction – Unclear at this time. Likely not be until 2024 pending how early recovery post-op goes.

Benny Bloss #44 – Rock River Yamaha

Injured When? Anaheim 1

Injured What? Banged Up but all his scans checked out clear as per our last chat with Benny when he appeared to be in a very short hospital bed after Anaheim 1.

Next race prediction – Expect him to be ready for Anaheim 2

Wilson Todd #102 – FirePower Honda

Injured When? San Diego

Injured What? Thumb Laceration

Return to Riding Timeframe – 1-week

Next race prediction – Will be fine for Anaheim 2 with some tape and glue I would expect.

David Pulley #138 – – The Privateer Paddock

Injured When? Anaheim 1

Injured What? Concussion, Broken Sternum, broken ribs and knee injury.

Return to Riding Timeframe – Minimum 6 weeks. David has not been able to confirm the details of his knee injury as yet.

Next race prediction – Expected to be riding East Coast in February 

McClellan Hile #533 – Privateer Honda

Injured When? Anaheim 1

Injured What? Concussion and bruised lungs

Return to Riding Timeframe – 2 weeks

Next race prediction – McClellan indicated to AlwaysMoto that he would be back for Anaheim 2 after extending his recovery to miss San Diego due to ongoing back soreness.

Luis Macias #259 – The Privateer Paddock

Injured When? Anaheim 1

Injured What? Broken Ribs, Lacerated Lung and Pneumothorax

Next race prediction – Somewhere around Round 8 at Daytona

Ryder DiFrancesco #75 – Monster Energy Pro Circuit

Injured When? Training

Injured What? Left Thumb, Avulsion fracture. This is where the ligament is pulled away from the bone with a piece of bone still attached to the Ligament. Ryder had surgery 2 days after the injury.

Scott Meshy #411 – Privateer

Injured When? Anaheim 1

Injured What? Right Hand, Two metacarpals

Justin Rodbell #70 – Privateer 

Injured When? Pre-Season

Injured What? Torn Achilles Tendon. AlwaysMoto checked in with Justin just a few days after he had surgery to repair the tear. Justin has a long road ahead with the recovery.

Next race prediction – Unclear at this early stage of recovery for this injury.

Brandon Hartranft #37 – HEP Twisted Tea Suzuki

Injured When? Pre-Season

Injured What? Multiple injuries. L1-2 Endplate fractures, L3-4 Transverse process fractures, L1-3 Spinous processes, Left Hip dislocation, Multiple rib fractures, right scapular fracture, Right hemothorax (Lung injury).

Next race prediction – Unclear at this early stage of recovery for these injuries.

Kyle Greeson #204 – Privateer

Injured What? L3 Burst Fracture

Vince Friese #39 – Motoconcepts Honda

Injured When? Pre-Season

Injured What? The Team has been very non-specific and lacks details on the injury for Vince. Unconfirmed reports of an Achilles injury from the A1 pits as he was in a moon boot.
