The Emergency Department – 2023 AMA Supercross Championship Round 2 (Rescheduled)- Oakland

That winning feeling for Hunter Lawrence in Tampa! What a ride.

This season just continues to give! Webb is back. Sexton is still Sexton and throwing away almost certain wins. Tomac had a non-Tomac ride and now the Championship is as tight as a swollen finger with a wedding ring on!

But how about our Aussie boy Hunter Lawrence? That ride took a lot of effort and some serious bike control in that final corner to slide in from outside to inside of that corner and make the pass for the win.

Injuries continue to be a secret in our sport. Rumours from the pits and on VitalMX podcasts this week talked about a possible knee injury for Nate Thrasher. But his 2nd place contradicts that. Or does it? It can be amazing how well the body can respond post-injury with the right treatment interventions.

Carson Mumford also falls into this secret category this week. A very nondescript update from the Pro Circuit team about his non-availability for Oakland this week despite that being announced only a few weeks earlier when he took the fill-in ride. Reports around about a calf or Achilles injury but no confirmations. All we know for sure is he isn’t racing Oakland this weekend.

With the West Coast 250’s back in action this weekend. It will be interesting to hear from RJ Hampshire and Cameron Mcadoo about their recoveries from their A2 crashes. Both probably were hoping for one more week to be really back on their normal training path but the schedule is what it is now.

How is Mcadoo’s arm recovery after his big crash at A2? We will find out when he hits the track in Oakland this weekend.

Also, I can’t wait for this rescheduled round numbering business to end this weekend. What a nightmare on updates and Twitter comments!
