Can Jett make it 22-0 this weekend?

One more to go!

Where did that MX season go? I know where all the 450 bonus checks have gone: Jett Lawrence’s back pocket, that’s where. It’s been an unbelievable season for the 450 rookie. But one thing remains in his sight: a perfect season. He has two motos to put together to ensure he stands on one of the more outstanding lists in moto folk law, along with joining the only two other riders on that list who are arguably the two best to ever ride a dirtbike.

What will Jett’s day be like? Will it be business as usual? Will we see a return of the nerves from his first 250 title day at Hangtown a few years ago? Will it be pure dominance to put a stamp on something he has already stamped? We will all be watching to find out.

Don’t forget that Hunter Lawrence is trying to wrap up his first AMA national title this weekend also. With a 22-point lead on Justin Cooper, he needs a solid day to ensure he takes home the number one plate.

On the injury front a quiet but impactful (Pardon the pun) day at Budds Creek. Hardy Munoz took a big hit that resulted in the red flag that really impacted the outcome of Haiden Deegan’s day. Not positively impacting either.

For IronMan we will get privateer fantasy nightmare Jerry Robin back on track after a bit of an unusual health battle following his last race at Washougal.

Jerry Robin has been undergoing treatment for an elbow infection that required some extended hospital stays and a course of antibiotics. Fortunately, he seems to be all clear now but I’d say his fitness will be nowhere near what it was at Washougal.

RJ Hampshire has taken the smart move post-concussion at Unadilla. He will sit out the final round at IronMan to be fully ready for the SMX Playoffs in two weekends’ time. The time off has also helped his ongoing issues with his stomach since his supercross crash earlier this year. An unintended outcome but something that might make him a very dangerous prospect come SMX rounds in September as he might be feeling better than he has in a while.
