THE DIRTY WEEKEND AHEAD The 6th and 7th of September 2014

Welcome to THE DIRTY WEEKEND AHEAD, presented by SUZUKI , our weekly look at the events and riders that will be in action throughout the coming weekend.

From International Events and Races that Australians and even our New Zealand friends are competing in, to national events and even a list of as many local state events we can find.

NATIONAL

2014 Australian Off-Road Championships Rounds 11 and 12 - Heathcoate, Vic:

The final round of the 2014 AORC Championships will take place this Saturday and Sunday in Heathcoate, Victoria. While no one has yet wrapped up any of the titles heading into the final rounds of the year, KTM's Toby Price (Outright and E2) , Husqvarna's Glenn Kearney (E3) and Active8 Yamaha's Tom McCormack all hold big points leads in their respective classes.

Along with the major pro classes, the final round will see Under19's, Women's, Vet's and Master's champions crowned for 2014

INTERNATIONAL

2014 World Motocross Championship Round 16 - Brazil

Heading into this weekend, the penultimate round of the series, all eyes will be on Red Bull KTM Factory Racing‰Ûªs Antonio Cairoli who has the 2014 MXGP World Title dead in his sights.

As it stands now Cairoli leads Yamaha Factory Racing‰Ûªs Jeremy Van Horebeek by 81 points and with only 100 points left on the table, it is very likely the Italian motocross extraordinaire will be crowned 2014 FIM Motocross World Champion marking his eighth FIM motocross world title in his ten years as a pro rider.

While there has been no word on the status of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing‰Ûªs MX2 series points leader Jeffrey Herlings who is now just over one month into the recovery of his broken femur, the title remains in contention for only one other, yet still belongs to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing with the other being their young talented Frenchman Jordi Tixier.

If Herlings doesn‰Ûªt line up in Goias, it‰Ûªs crunch time for Tixier with the biggest rumor in the paddock being that Herlings WILL line up if it‰Ûªs necessary in order to make a final bid at his third consecutive FIM MX2 world title, at the final round in Mexico. Therefore any points Tixier can bank this weekend will be vital in his hunt for his first ever MX2 crown.

Great news for us Aussies fans is Dean Ferris will line up for the final two rounds of the championship in the MX1 class.

2014 Grand National Cross Country Round 10 - Unadilla:

Following a two-month break over the summer, the 2014 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, returns to action this weekend, Sept. 6 and 7, with the Can-Am Unadilla GNCC.

Factory FMF KTM's Kailub Russell heads into Round 10 with a commanding lead over the rest of the XC1 Pro class, while KTM Support rider Grant Baylor leads the way in XC2 Pro Lites.

Rocky Mountain ATV*MC/N-Fab AmPro Yamaha's Australian rider Josh Strang currently sits third in the championship standings, where he diligently works toward surpassing FMF/KTM's Charlie Mullins for the second place position.

FULLNOSIE.COM.AU's Weekend Ahead

This weekend we are back on our beloved Suzuki RM-Z 250 as we head to the fifth and final round of the 2014 Peter Stevens South Australian Motocross Championships. We have freshly oiled our FunnelWeb Filter with Penrite Filter oil, a fresh batch of Penrite MC Oil has been poured in to keep the motor running like clock work, our bike is loaded and locked securley in place with our multipurpose Ready Ramp and we are about to hit the road.

As a bonus we are heading to the iconic and scenic Crystal Brook track in South Australia, a track that has played host to the Australian Motocross Championships in the past and is a favorite for hosting classic MX events in this day and age.

We will have a bit of an extended weekend this week as well, with a quick trip to Qld as soon as we return from the SA State titles to test out the 2015 range of Yamaha MX bikes, and maybe throw a leg over a race bike or two. Stay tuned for that next week!
