Welcome to THE DIRTY WEEKEND AHEAD, presented by SUZUKI , our weekly look at the events and riders that will be in action throughout the coming weekend.

From International Events and Races that Australians and even our New Zealand friends are competing in, to national events and even a list of as many local state events we can find.

INTERNATIONAL

2014 Lucas Oils American Pro Motocross Championship Round 9: Washougal
Ken Roczen continues to lead the American motocross championship.
Aussie Line Up: Chad Reed (450) Brett Metcalfe (450) Jarryd McNeill (250)

Ken Roczen and Jeremy Martin continue to lead the 2014 Lucas Oils American Pro Motocross Championships as the series heads to Washougal for round nine of the 12 round championship.

While Roczen has a handy 26 point lead in the championshp fight over team-mate Ryan Dungey, both riders have a new opponent on track to keep an eye on with a healthy Eli Tomac showing he is back in form after a 1-1 result last weekend at Spring Creek.

A third Aussie will also be in action this weekend with Jarryd McNeill, who is more known for his big whips and freestyle ability these days, heading back to the race track and aiming to qualify in one of the worlds toughest motocross championships, the American 250 class.

2014 World Motocross Championships Round 14: Loket, Czech Republic

Aussie Line Up: Dean Ferris (MX1), Meghan Rutledge (WMX)
Australia's Meghan Rutledge is gunning for the Women's world motocross Championship this weekend
While Antonio Cairoli cruises to yet another world championship in the MX1 class, the MX2 class has been turned on it's head with the new that championship leader Jeffrey Herlings will be sidelined for the remainder of the season after breaking his femur.

Herlings injury has given his MX2 rivals a glimmer of hope of stealing the 2014 championship away from the current champ, though it is no gaurantee with Herlings holding a 145 point lead over Jordi Tixier meaning Tixier will have to average just over 18 points in each of the remaining 8 moto's for the season to win the title, meaning needing to finish pretty much 3rd or 4th on average in every race.

Romain Febvre and Dylan Ferrandis also can mathematically win the title, though both riders will need to just about win every single moto remaning to become 2014 champion. (FRA,

For us Aussies there are two big things to watch for this weekend. First and foremost will be Meghan Rutledge's bid for the Women's world title. Rutledge heads into the final round of the Women's championship just four points behind the championship leader, meaning two moto wins will gaurantee her the title.

The other rider to watch obviously is Dean Ferris as he continues his come back from his wrist injury. Ferris impressed with a 6th place result last time out and was close to scoring his maiden MX1 moto podium.

NATIONAL

2014 Desert Tri-Series Round 2: Doorawarrah 500
Toby Price leads the way into the second round of the 2014 Tri Series in WA
Australia's fastest desert racers are back in action this weekend in the Western Australian Desert for round two of the 2014 Desert Tri Series. Toby Price leads the championship after his opening round win and is the favorite heading into round two.

FULLNOSIE.COM.AU's Weekend Ahead

This weekend our Suzuki RM-Z 250 finally gets behind the start gate for its first Motocross race! Yes even though the bike has been in our possession for close to two months now, we have not had the chance to line up behind a set of gates

While this is our first MX race on the yellow beast, we have already completed one Off-Road event and one Desert race (Check out the footage of our prolouge lap from Hattah above) but this weekend is really what we have been hanging for as we line up in the B Grade Vets class at the third round of the South Australian Motocross championships being held at Andy Caldecott Park, Keith.

We have a few new additions to the bike heading into the weekend with a completely new control centre up front. A set of ODI handlebars have now been fitted in the Country-Boy bend and a brand new set of blue Emig signature ODI V2 Lock on grips, locked on.

We can't say enough good things about the ODI Lock on grips, our original set are still in great condition and sitting in the tool box for that just in case moment waiting to be bolted on if needed. Yep no waiting for glue to dry on race day with these bad boys, slide them on and ride.

We have also fitted a set of ARC levers and are running Funnel Web airfilters, all thanks to the great guys over at Lusty Industries.

A big shout out also to the Penrite oil company for their help in 2014, on Sunday we will be pitted under a Penrite Oils Marquee and will have plenty of Stickers and some posters to give away along with some information on the full line up of Penrite oils along with a small display of products that can be purchased from their online store. Head over to the pit set up at Lunch time on Sunday for a look.

THAT's A WRAP

As always be sure to keep an eye on the Fullnoise.com.au Social Pages over the weekend for some images and updates regarding the weekends racing.

Then check the front page of the Fullnoise.com.au site on Monday for our MONDAY MOTOBOARD Presented by TM Racing Australia for a full list of results from all racing over the weekend.

Again for 2014 if there are any events at your local club that you would like to have added to the Dirty Weekend Ahead, email details to mail@fullnoise.com.au
