2016 AMA MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS ROUND 5 - Arizona
The Fifth round of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship heads to Arizona with Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey leading the championship standings by 22 points

The Dunge is looking unbeatable right now and will head into round five on the back of a three round winning streak

Behind Dungey it is a three way fight for second in the points at the moment with Ken Roczen, Jason Anderson and Australia's own Chad Reed all separated by just a single point.

It is another big round for missing riders with the most noticeable absentees in the SX class being James Stewart, Blake Baggett and Trey Canard.

One guy who will certainly be on the line is DPH Yamaha's Lawson Bopping who would have to be a on a few teams short lists as a possible fill in rider with the number of injuries starting to hit the field.

The 250 West Class was thrown wide open last week with Cody Webb crossing the line in last position on track after a bike malfunction.

The big benefactor was Joey Savatgy who inherited the race lead at the time, went on to record his maiden race win and took over the points lead and will head into this weekend rocking the red plate.

Webbs misfortune also put Zach Osborne, Colt Nichols and Christian Craig back in with a fighting chance at taking this years 250 West title.

For us Aussies it will be Hayden Mellross flying the solo Australian flag as well as the 51fifty Energy Drink flag after his team made Zach Bell was ruled out of this weekend after sustaining a shoulder injury at Oakland.

Mellross came back from a back of the field early in Oakland to a 13th place finish and is confident of cracking the top ten in the near future.
Can Dean Ferris start the year by winning the 2016 NZMX title
2016 New Zealand Motocross Championships Round 1 - Backflips MX Park, Timaru

New Zealand's top motocross riders will take aim at their national championship starting this weekend in Timaru with a handful of Aussies on hand ready to ruin the party and bring the title back to the great land we live in.

The man to beat will be none other than the reigning Kiwi Champ and the overall winner of the Woodville GP Cody Cooper. While Cooper has not had the best of runs over here in "Aussie" the past couple of years, he is still the man to beat in his home country.

However he will have some tough competition in two former MXGP combatants in Aussies Dean Ferris and Todd Waters. Ferris raced to the win in the International feature race at Woodville last Sunday and also picked up one of the three race wins in the Woodville GP event.

In fact all three riders had a moto win with Waters taking the final moto win of the weekend, setting up a great showdown again this weekend in Timaru.

In the MX2 ranks the Kiwi men will be glad to hear the Courtney Duncan will miss the event as she puts the final touches to her WMXGP preparations.

The likes of Kayne Lamont, Hamish Harwood, Josiah Natzke and Ethan Martens will be the favourites for the title win heading into round one, but keep an eye out for Aussie Jed Beaton who is in New Zealand ready to throw down along with fellow Australians Joel Wightman and Jayden Conforto who are both listed to race.

Head to - https://www.livetiming.co.nz early on Sunday morning for live timing.

FULLNOISE.COM.AU's Weekend Ahead

We managed to get our riding in early this weekend with a Friday afternoon session at Gillman in South Australia. Though we are thinking about heading out for another ride tomorrow arvo, because who doesn't love riding!

Sunday will once again be spent keeping a close eye on the live practice and qualifying times from Arizona as we finalise out fantasy teams while also keeping an eye on who the opening round of the New Zealand MX Championships are unfolding.

Sunday arvo will be spent on the couch watching Monster Energy Supercross before we start compiling race results and reports ready for first thing Monday morning. All in all it is going to be another massive moto weekend.
