Fullnoise.com.au's Look At The Major Australian and International Races and Events Being Held This Weekend

2016 AMA MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS ROUND 2 - San Diego
The third round of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship heads back to Anaheim this weekend for A2

IN the SX class it is Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey who will head into the round with the red plates show casing the big number one on his bike after his win last time out in San Diego.

Aussie Chad Reed followed Dungey the entire race in SD to finish a fine second aboard his Factory Yamaha and will be looking to go one better this Saturday night.

Round one winner Jason Anderson finished in third at round two but was then docked two positions for jumping while the medical flag was being waved, elevating Cole Seely to the final spot on the podium for the second weekend in a row.

Seely has probably been the biggest surprise of 2016 and while he did pull off a race win in 2015, he consistent top five pace at the opening two rounds has him in a great position to equal or better his overall championship standing in 2015 of 3rd.

The three riders we are keeping our eyes on this weekend are Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac and Trey Canard. The trio were the three big names expected to challenge Dungey for this years title, but after two rounds of racing they are all looking for that one ride that will elevate their confidence and see them standing on the top step of the podium.

Our other rider to watch in the SX class is of course Aussie Lawson Bopping who will be looking to repeat his A1 performance and make the main event at A1.

Two big names will be missing from the class this weekend with Justin Barcia being ruled out for the majority of the SX season as he undergoes Thumb surgery while Broc Tickle will miss the next 4-6 weeks after breaking his arm in a practice crash this week.
Cody Webb put in another one of his amazing come from behind wins at San Diego and is really starting to look unbeatable in the 250SX West Class.

It is hard to tell if anyone can hold Webb off for 15 laps, but if we were to put money on any riders, Joey Savatgey, Zach Osborne or Christian Craig would be the three riders who have shown the outright pace to maybe make it happen.

For Australian SX fans we will once again have three riders to cheer on Sunday afternoon.

51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha's Hayden Mellross finished 11th at A1 and backed that up with a 4th in his heat race at San Diego before things went pear shaped in the main event while he was sitting in second position. Look to another strong outing for Mellross this weekend.

As we have reported earlier this week, Luke Clout will make his Monster Energy Supercross debut racing for the Dirt Candy Suzuki team. The team has a bit of a history in supporting Australian riders, with South Australian Brett Metcalfe riding a Kawasaki with support from the outfit at the opening rounds of the 2015 SX.

We quickly hit up Geran Stapleton earlier this weekend and he was hopeful of returning to action at A2, we will try and confirm this tomorrow morning and find out how the Victorian's hand is feeling.

Once again all practice and qualifying will be shown live at www.supercrosslive.com early Sunday morning Australian time with live racing action being broadcast on ESPN2 at 1:30pm (Check your local guides.)

Shipwreck Coast Motocross Club 2 Day Open
The Victorian Motocross season kicks off this weekend with the annual Shipwreck Coast two day event.

A quick look at the entry list shows that there will once again be a good turn out at the event with Joel Milesevic looking as the rider to beat after a quick glance of the entry list.

EAST COST MX ROUND - 1
The opening round of the 2016 East Coast MX Championship heads to the Lakes MCC this weekend for two big days of racing action.

Junior will hit the track on Saturday before seniors line up to go racing on Sunday.

Some big names are lining up at Lakes this weekend with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team leading the way with both Matt Moss and Jake Moss lining up.

Matt Moss will be joined on the line by Egan Mastin and the veteran of the sport, Craig Anderson in the big bike class while Jake will get a chance to see where he is at as he lines up against MX Nationals regulars, Jayden Rykers, Joel Whiteman and Brock McLeary along with first year senior riders Cooper Pozniak and Brendon Walther in the 250 class.

FULLNOISE.COM.AU's Weekend Ahead

This weekend we will be making the trip to Renmark in South Australia to get in a little stadiumX practice ahead of the Riverland Junior Motocross Club's StadiumX race on the 6th of Feb

It will also give a chance to check out how things are going with the clubs preparation for this years KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championship.

Before we head track side though we will be updating stage 12 of the Dakar and checking in on how things are going with Toby.

After spending Sunday out riding our Suzuki RM-Z450 we will kick back on Sunday and watch the Aussie boys go head to head with the world best at A2 before we start compiling available results from around Australia and the world for Monday's Motoboard, our weekly results service.

Get out there, get DIRTY and enjoy your weekend hitting the trails, tracks and starting gates around this great country of ours.
