The Fifth round of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship heads to San Diego with Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey leading the championship ahead of last weekends winner Ken Roczen.

Roczen's win came just in time for the German star, breaking through for his first win of 2016 and in the process stopping Dungey's current win streak.

Ensuring Does not get the win in San Diego is going to even more important for not only Roczen, but also other championship hopefuls such as Jason Anderson, Eli Tomac and Australia's Chad Reed. While Dungey did not win last time out, he was still very impressive working his way from 11th through to second position. If anyone wants a shot at beating Dungey this year they are going to have to start beating him week in week out, but at the moment, last years champ still looks the best out on track.

This weekend also marks the Military appreciation round with Chad Reed showing his support with some fresh Camo gear for the weekend.

Australia's second Aussie in the 450 class in Lawson Bopping will be back in action for is scheduled to be he last race before returning home to Australia. Hopefully it is another strong ride for Bopping and he will once again top his best result in Saturday nights main event.

In the 250 West class things are all tied at the top with Cooper Webb and Joey Savatgy all squared away on points as the riders head into their final race before the break.

Last weekends winner Christian Craig also moved himself back into title contention with his win and now sits just 11 points from the championship lead.

Aussie Hayden Mellross will be in action in the 250 West class aboard his 51fifty Yamaha and after running right around the top ten for 14 of the 15 laps in Phoenix, he will be looking to hold on for one more lap and move up one position to crack the top ten for the first time and check off one more goal in his first year of racing SX in the U.S.
