Taylor Potter Happy with his Darwin Results Aboard His New Ride

Posted:

A1 Motorcycles Taylor Potter raced to ninth place overall after the opening two rounds of the 2013 Terex Australian Supercross Championship held at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin on the 14th and 15th of September.

Racing the Pro Lites class on his Honda CRF250R, Potter finished the opening main event of the season held on Saturday afternoon in 9th position before repeating his performance on Sunday afternoon with another solid 9th place finish.

‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm happy with my results in the two rounds of the supercross in Darwin." Potter stated. "The heat was a near killer and a couple of bike problems meant that I was a bit behind the eight ball.

"I‰Ûªm very happy with my Honda and the support that I have been able to both retain and develop since my switch has been fantastic but we lacked a bit in set up time and with the rain in Melbourne I came into Darwin with little time on my bike.

‰ÛÏIGE had prepared a massive supercross track at Hidden Valley and lap times were around 1.14 mins. It contained a mix of everything and after my riding in the States I felt comfortable with the track.

"I have only raced one event since returning home to Australia so my starts were a bit sketchy however the heat was hardest part, racing in it was like breathing fire especially as there is still snow in the Alpine resorts in Victoria and we were racing in 34 degree heat in Darwin.‰Û

There was a big crowd to see both the Australian Superbike Championship racing and the supercross and the racing goes to air on TV on Speed Week on SBS and Speed on Foxtel over the coming weeks.

With the opening rounds of the year done and dusted Potter will now turn his attention to round three being held in South Australia on the 12th of October.

‰ÛÏI have a few weeks to continue preparation for the 3rd round in Mt Gambier South Australia and hopefully I will have the Honda CRF250R in a very competitive state and enable me to climb further up in the results.‰Û
