Tai Woffinden Focused On The Big Prize Heading Into Gorzow

Posted:

FIM Speedway World Championship leader Tai Woffinden says he‰Ûªs not bothered about winning an SGP round ‰ÛÒ as long as he strikes gold in October!

The Great Britain star has won only one of the seven rounds of the series but arrives at the Edward Jancarz Stadium for the Gorzow FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland on Saturday with a 13-point lead in the title race.

Crucially, he has been consistent with a staggering 78 points gained from the five rounds which went the full distance ‰ÛÒ and average of 15.6 points per event. This puts him on 91 overall ‰ÛÒ 13 ahead of nearest rival Nicki Pedersen and 26 clear of defending champion Greg Hancock in third.

Despite his sizeable advantage, Woffinden still gets asked when he will add to the Czech SGP win he achieved in Prague on May 23.

‰ÛÏThat doesn‰Ûªt really matter as long as I get the ultimate prize." Woffinden commented. "It‰Ûªs all about being consistent; that‰Ûªs what I‰Ûªve achieved so far. I‰Ûªve hit big numbers in every GP which has gone the distance, and I intend that to continue in these last five rounds.

‰ÛÏIt‰Ûªs nice to win a Grand Prix, don‰Ûªt get me wrong, but as long as I get a big score then I‰Ûªm happy and that attitude will continue going towards Gorzow.‰Û
