Central Coast rider Glenn Scott has come away from the third round of the Australasian Championship with increased confidence following a successful weekend that saw him move closer towards his factory backed opposition riders in the Championship standings and further improving his overall speed on the Team InsureMyRide Racing Honda Superbike.
After qualifying tenth for the first of Saturday‰Ûªs three races, Glenn exhibited late race speed in the first ten lap event subsequently finishing ninth. An improvement prior to the second event saw Scott rise to sixth also reflecting an improvement in overall lap times.
With the grid positions for Sunday‰Ûªs races to be determined based upon lap times from Saturday‰Ûªs events, Glenn remained determined to rise further aboard his Team InsureMyRide Racing Honda Superbike. Another strong sixth place finish in race three handed Glenn sixth place for the day and cemented him in second for the series with three rounds remaining.
For Sunday‰Ûªs Australasian Superbike Championship events, Glenn looked to continue his strong form from Saturday, securing sixth in the opening race. A further improvement in lap times inside 1min9sec saw Glenn finish seventh with his times being replicated in race three to finish tenth, reflective of the high level of competitiveness at the front of the Superbike field. Glenn‰Ûªs results for the day handed him seventh for the day and locking away seventh in the series points.
‰ÛÏThe weekend has been another great learning curve for myself and the whole team." Scott stated. "We managed to grab some solid results over the two days with sixth on Saturday and seventh on Sunday just behind our factory opposition.
"Unfortunately they aren't podiums but are positive results for us which have helped us move up the leader board in the overall standings.
‰ÛÏAfter suffering some setup issues we took our Team InsureMyRide Racing Honda CBR 1000 to its limits on the weekend. My team worked hard to give me the best bike possible and I pushed as hard as I could every race.
"I have to thank my team for putting in the effort they did and also a massive thank you to Bernie Hatton from Top Rider for helping me ride the Queensland Raceway circuit in the best way I possibly could.‰Û
