Stage Set For Final Day Of Racing At KTM AJMX

Posted:

After a phenomenal six days of racing hosted by KTM and the Macarthur Motorcycle Club, the curtain is set to draw on Appin with just eight finals to go.

The 125cc/2st 15yrs class set the tone for an action packed day early, KTM pilot Mitch Evans showed his skill after falling on the opening lap and starting the first final well outside of the top 10, he thrilled the crowd by climbing all the way up to second place on the final lap finishing behind Dylan Dukes by just over half a second.

After the two finals Evans leads Jordan Hill by seven points with Dukes back a further nine points.

Caleb Grothues went 1-1 in the opening finals of the 85cc 2st/150cc 4st 13-U15 class to tally 70 points with one final remaining, Riley Dukes is second on 62 and Brodie Ellis is third on 56.

It's anyone's championship in the 85cc 2st/150cc 4st 14-U16's with just six points separating the top three, with one race to go, Cooper Pozniak, Cody McMahon and Hugh McKay could all take the top gong.

Hunter Lawrence, Wade Kirkland and Cody Dyce were 1, 2 and 3 in both finals today giving Lawrence a six point lead for tomorrow in the 150cc 2st/250cc 4st 13-U15's.

The 125cc 2st 13-U15 class is another tight affair, Cody Dyce sits on 65, Wade Kirkland on 60 and New Zealander Reece Walker is on 51 in front of fellow Kiwi Wyatt Chase on 48.

Ashleigh McCormick is fighting off a fast approaching Danielle Foot in the Girls championship, Foot took the penultimate final win in front of McCormick putting both girls in a position to claim the overall win.

Racing starts tomorrow at 8am.
