Motorcycling South Australia (MSA), the State Controlling Body for Motorcycle Sport and Recreation in SA in conjunction with the SA MX Sports Managers Committee has released the dates and locations for the 2017 South Australian MX Championship.
The series will expand to five rounds in 2017, commencing in the west of the state before venturing through Adelaide and its surrounding regions, subsequently wrapping up in the south-east and Riverland.
The first round of the year will see the series make the journey to the Port Lincoln Motorcycle Club. The seaside town, famous for its food, enjoyable lifestyle and tourist appeal is set to kick the season off in April. South Coast Motocross Club‰Ûªs Monarto venue will host the second round in May, just two weeks prior to the MX Nationals contesting their fifth round at the same track.
The popular Gillman track will be the third round of the series with the Motocross Riders Association (MRA) to host the event in June. A return to the calendar for the Keith Motorcycle Club in July will bring the series to the state‰Ûªs south-east with the season to wrap up in the first weekend of September in Renmark. 2017 will also see the return of a formal awards presentation evening, held in mid-September following the final round.
SA MX Sports Managers‰Ûª Daniel Banks is looking forward to the expanded season and affirms that the calendar provides for an exciting racing season with the Championship being taken to all corners of the state. Banks went on to say that there will be an exciting array of announcements in the lead up to the opening event for the new season.
