South Australia Gains Temporary Supercross Training Facility

Posted:

Supercross finally returns to Adelaide after a 5 year hiatus on October 31, and in support of this Motorcycling SA have restructured the venue formally known as 3 Star at Wingfield into a temporary Supercross track.

The venue has been recently leased by Motorcycling SA with full plans to be a training and Development Park, but to assist Riders to gain the skill and confidence required for Supercross, Motorcycling SA have decided that it will be a supercross training facility for the next 3 months.

Thanks to Wayne McMillan and Joe Dalle-Molle who worked hard over the weekend to tweak the existing structures and add a few elements.

To ride the circuit, there are requirements:
‰Û¢ Riders MUST be supercross endorsed by a Supercross Approved Coach
‰Û¢ Or attending a Coaching session/school by a Supercross Approved Coach
‰Û¢ A Rider cannot be under 12 years of age
‰Û¢ Bike capacity must be between 85cc & 455cc

Currently in South Australia, we have 2 Coaches approved for Supercross endorsement in Shane Metcalfe and Mick Breed.

Motorcycling SA are currently working with these Coaches to come up with a set training schedule to assist in getting Rider‰Ûªs endorsed.

Outside of the training schedule the venue will open at allocated times for practice and training of endorsed riders, depending on availability of officials to open it.

To gain your supercross endorsement, please contact either Shane Metcalfe on 0418 827 586 or Mick Breed 0409 090 436 to book.
