Solid performance for Wilson Coolair Motul Suzuki at Bacchus Marsh

Posted:

Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki‰Ûªs SX1 riders showed plenty of speed following a successful Round 2 of the Australian Supercross Championship at Bacchus Marsh over the weekend.

After a difficult season opener last month, Luke Wilson and Nick Schmidt showcased refreshed form in Victoria over the weekend, the pair putting together consistent heat race results before charging to impressive finishes in the SX1 final.

American Schmidt was fast straight off the bat in country Victoria on Saturday night. The 2018 Suzuki RM-Z450 rider qualified in a solid fifth position, then raced to third in his heat race and wrapped up the evening‰Ûªs events with sixth in the talent packed SX1 final.

‰ÛÏWe had two weekends off after the first round, and we put in a lot of work with the team and with the suspension. My suspension guy did an amazing job and we made some big improvements,‰Û

For Luke Wilson, Round 2 of the Australian Supercross Championship was a step in the right direction. The Queenslander qualified just outside the top 15 (16th), and finished in seventh in the heat race, however the experienced rider lifted when it counted and crossed the finish line on Saturday night just outside the top ten in 12th place.

‰ÛÏThe weekend was definitely better than the first round. I put my head down and worked hard, and although I‰Ûªm still not where I want to be, this was a step in the right direction,‰Û
