Ryan Marmont showed consistent results at round two of the Sunshine State Motocross Series held at Coolum in QLD on the weekend, taking the overall win in the Pro Lites class, while local Stephen Smith took the honors in the Pro Open class ahead of Todd Waters. Whilst Marmont took the days overall it was team-mate Michael Addison and new Kawasaki Racing Team recruit Luke George that took both moto wins on the day. A third and a second saw the Australian Pro Lite Supercross champion tie on 42 points with Shift Motul Suzuki's Lawson Bopping - Marmont was awarded the win on account of his higher placing, Bopping went 3-3 for the day for his 42 points. Addison finished third saying that couldn‰Ûªt quite find his rhythm. Commenting on his racing, Marmont said, ‰ÛÏCoolum is an important circuit for Motorex KTM Racing to get in some good runs, because the National Motocross Championship comes to this track. ‰ÛÏFor me, I just wanted to put in some consistent results, enjoy my racing, and work towards my fitness and bike settings being where I need them to be in time for the National Championship. ‰ÛÏWhat I got most out of this race meeting was an idea for where I‰Ûªm sitting in the lead up to the National Championship in terms of fitness and bike preparation. My fitness still isn‰Ûªt where I want it to be so I‰Ûªll be working hard to improve there and the KTM 250 SX-F just keeps getting better for me so we know we‰Ûªre going to be at the top of our game come the Nationals.‰Û
