The Monster Energy Honda Rally Team has just secured a powerful addition to its roster in the form of American ace, Skyler Howes.

Howes will be joining the ranks alongside formidable riders Adrien Van Beveren, Pablo Quintanilla, José Ignacio Cornejo, and fellow compatriot Ricky Brabec.

Howes’ credentials in the world of rally raid are nothing short of impressive. He soared to a remarkable third-place finish in Saudi Arabia this past January, etching his name in the illustrious history of the Dakar Rally. His podium finish made him just the fifth American ever to achieve this remarkable feat on Dakar’s overall standings. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

The roots of Howes’ passion for racing run deep. It all began back in 2008 when he was crowned the USRA 125 Desert Champion, marking the inception of an extraordinary journey. Over the years, Howes has amassed a staggering total of 48 race victories, a testament to his unwavering dedication and undeniable talent.

Following a successful run with Husqvarana Howes will now represent the powerful HRC rally team.

Howes himself is brimming with enthusiasm about his latest move, stating, “Riding for the HRC rally team is a highlight of my life and career. I learned how to ride on a XR75 when I was 3 years old and I began my rally effort on a CRF450X so my roots are deep with Honda. To also have the support of Monster Energy is huge for me and I’m super excited to see what the team and I can accomplish together. After a podium at the Dakar, my focus remains the same, have as much fun as possible, and continue to reach for the top step of the podium”.

Ruben Faria, the Team Manager, couldn’t be happier about this addition. He highlights Howes’ unique blend of youth and experience in the world of rally, emphasizing his impressive third-place finish at the last Dakar and his triumph in Morocco. Faria believes that Howes’ prowess, both on and off the beaten path, will play a pivotal role in propelling the Monster Energy Honda Team to greater heights, setting their sights on the top standings at Dakar 2024.

Born in Riverside, California, the 31-year-old rider hails from a lineage deeply rooted in racing, a passion passed down through generations. When he’s not conquering rally terrains, Howes calls Southern Utah home, where he engages in intense practice. Beyond the thrill of rally raid, he’s an adventurer at heart. Off the trails, you’ll find him pursuing activities like mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, jet skiing, and even piloting his own hot-air balloon. Skyler Howes is a true force to be reckoned with, both on and off the track, and his journey with the Monster Energy Honda Team promises to be an exciting chapter in his illustrious career.
