Serco Yamaha’s Ford Dale gains points in the Super X Pro Lites standings

Posted:

Serco Yamaha's Ford Dale put together two consistent motos in muddy conditions at Carisbrook Stadium, Dunedin, to take sixth overall in the Pro Lites division.

The Lites class contested the Double header format with two seven lap races back to back in extremely muddy conditions which made life uncomfortable for the riders, teams and the bikes.

Dale finished seventh in both motos and managed to keep the bike on two wheels throughout the night which was a major challenge for all competitors in very trying race conditions.

"I got to say it wasn't much fun out racing in those conditions. Most of the time it was more a matter of survival and keeping the bike out of the water rather than racing."

"While it wasn't the best result, at least I didn't fall off and I was able to gain a few points on the riders in front of me in the championship," Dale said.

The sentiment was echoed by Serco's head technician, Michael Marty.

"For the past few rounds, Ford has been crashing or not finishing a moto due to bad luck so we reset the goals a little bit tonight to suit the conditions. So from that point of view, it was good, but we know Ford is better than that and he will pick it up next round."

Dale has now moved to seventh overall in the series standings with two rounds remaining in the championship.
