A season best result for TM Racing Australia supported, Full Force Racing Components team rider Joel Evans has ensured a 1-2 result for TM Machinery in the MX2 North Cup.
Evan‰Ûªs weekend did not start off the way he would have liked when he was cleaned up by another rider as qualifying got underway on Saturday, with the force of the impact in the collision ripping his header pipe clean off and snapping the brackets that hold it in place.
With no qualifying time posted on Saturday, Evans lined up aboard his TM MX 250 two stroke on the far outside of the start gates due to having the last pick of the gate.
The 19 year old who has hit every personal goal he set himself heading into the season was not about to be denied hitting one more target on is home track and fired out of the gate in all three moto‰Ûªs coming out of the first turn inside the top five in every single moto including a big holeshot around the outside in race two.
Taking full advantage of his great starts Evans raced to an 7-9-7 moto results to end the day 6th overall in the MX2 class and in the process lifted himself to 10th overall in the final championship standings in his first full year of racing the national circuit.
