Scott Shows Promise in Aragon European Opener

Posted:

Australian Glenn Scott has recorded another promising finish in the third round of the 2015 World Supersport Championship and the first as part of the European leg of the series at the Aragon circuit in Spain.

Following the success at round two in Thailand and the development made in Spain, Scott is confident ahead of this weekend‰Ûªs event in Assen in the Netherlands.

From the weekend‰Ûªs three free practice sessions, Glenn‰Ûªs fastest time overall placed him in 19th. Being the first time he had visited and raced on the Aragon Circuit, the Central Coast rider admitted it was going to be no easy task.

A clear progression in qualifying saw Glenn improve his fastest overall lap time of the weekend by one second, setting a 1:56.975, placing him in 19th for Sunday‰Ûªs race.

An impressive start to the race saw Glenn on the verge of the top 15 as he chased further Championship points, though contact with a rider mid-race plunged him down the order to 25th.

A recovery to 18th by the completion of the race was a good achievement by Scott‰Ûªs own admission as he now prepares for the next round of the series, currently sitting 20th in the overall standings.

‰ÛÏIt was a great round for AARK Racing, Aragon would be one of the toughest circuits on the calendar and easily the hardest circuit I have ever ridden." Scott said. "I always knew this was going to be a tough round for me and the team but every session we worked hard and improved.

"Qualifying in 19th out of 25 and hitting the 56's was a good achievement in such an experienced field at the Aragon circuit.‰Û
